Friday afternoon, Will and Martin hooked up the Stratos for the first time and headed West to Lake Moomaw. Bordering the West Virginia line, the lake sits deep in the mountains at 1500 feet above sea level. The true beauty of the lake is enough to draw the two for a long day of fishing; successful or not. After catching a few hours of sleep in the truck, they woke up early to beat the locals to the ramp. After making it through the wall of fog, they pulled the boat into a cove. As soon as the motor stopped Martin heard a very familiar sound. A turkey roosted on the mountain couldn't resist gobbling everytime Martin hooted. After hours of listening to Martin "locating the tom", Will caught the first fish of the day. The rest is history! The trip couldn't have been better!
Catch and Release Fishing
ReplyDeleteIs a sport, but it has become less about survival and more about fun in recent decades. There is an issue of fish becoming depleted and many anglers are now employing the practice of catch and release fishing. Catch and release fishing is a great theory, but many people are doing it incorrectly and as a result many fish are dying. A few steps should be followed when trying to catch and release a fish. Once you get the hang of how to do it correctly, you will be able to enjoy your hobby and keep the population of fish full in your favorite stream or lake.
