2011 Spring Turkey Chronicles

We all seem to have those farms that are full of game, but it's hard to find time to hunt them because they're too far away.....This farm Carrington, Martin and Will hunted a month back is just that!  Turkeys everywhere!  The night before, Martin and Will scouted the farm in hopes to roost a big tom.  The first field they came to, there was a longbeard feeding his way to the roost.  Out of curiosity, they looped around to the field that Carrington refers to as the 'honey hole'.  Sure enough, three toms sparring over a lone hen....of course the camera was in the truck!  The next morning was a total bust!  Very disappointing.  Two weeks back, Martin and Carrington were set to put the curse to rest!  Again, stumped!  Knowing the volume of mature longbeards, Martin decided to give the farm one last chance.  Walking to "the spot" he stopped to see if he could get a turkey to give up his location.  As soon as he hooted, three gobblers located within 50 yards.  Minutes after the turkeys hit the ground, Martin had this beautiful bird in the bag!  Great way to end the curse and the season!
