HELM Dove Hunt

Last Saturday, Carter Hilliard of Hilliard Estate and Land Management invited the guys from GarHole to hunt a true dove haven here in Central Virginia.  Carter and his team at HELM strategically planted sunflowers which hosted a powerline.  As the afternoon dwindled away, the doves lit up the sky, keeping the young retrievers, "Obie" and "Chester" on their feet.  The final count was around 90 birds with hundreds still dumping in after we called it a day.  A big thanks to HELM for a great hunt!
